McCreary County Attorney Austin Price was born and raised in Parkers Lake, Kentucky, where he still lives with his wife, Darlene. He has two wonderful children: a beautiful daughter, Rachel Price, and a handsome step-son, Ian Lawler, who is married to the equally beautiful Teresa Lawler. Austin has practiced in various areas of the law for the last 28 years, including, criminal defense, prosecution, civil, appellate, administrative and tax appeals. He has tried countless misdemeanor and felony cases, including, numerous high level felony and death penalty cases. He has argued cases before both the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court and won. He has run his own successful law office in McCreary County for the last 22 years.

 

Over the years, Austin has volunteered to serve on various boards in McCreary County. For eleven years, he volunteered on the McCreary County Educational Development Board. He also volunteered to help re-establish the McCreary County Park Board, where he served for eight years. He has also assisted and volunteered as legal counsel for various non-profits serving the people of McCreary County. Austin is a veteran, having served six years with the Kentucky Army National Guard.
